We are looking for volunteers who:

  • Honor their commitments
  • Exhibit a positive attitude
  • Enjoy giving to our amazing community
  • Want to make a difference
  • Respect diversity and inclusion of all volunteers, visitors, staff, and community members
  • Have a love for animals and the natural world we live in

Here are Pine Grove Zoo’s amazing volunteer opportunities:

Zoo Admission Ambassadors (Adults or Adults with children)
Zoo Ambassadors are enthusiastic, people-oriented volunteers who interact with guests in our Admission/Gift Shop area. If you enjoy meeting people, you will love this opportunity. You will greet visitors and process their payments for admission or gift shop purchases. A 2–3-hour shift is preferred.

Supply Driver (Adults)
Do you like running errands? We need responsible adults to pick up supplies at local businesses for the care of our animal family. A valid driver’s license is required. This is a 1–2-hour time commitment for each supply run on specific times/days of the week.

Wild Guides (Adults or Adults with Children)
Wild Guides are for adults or adults with responsible children interested in conservation, education and connecting with people. Guides will meander the Zoo, greeting and helping guests locate specific Zoo Animals. You will inform guests what is happening at the Zoo that day and of any upcoming events or activities at the Zoo. 1–2-hour shift is preferred.

Petting Stable Ambassadors (Ages 18+)
Petting stable ambassadors will assist our Petting Stable Staff with maintaining the cleanliness of our Petting Stable area. This includes working directly with the animals in the petting stable. You must attend special training prior to working with our Petting Stable Family. 2–3-hour shift is preferred.

Special Event Team (Ages 16+)
Special event team volunteers provide support at zoo Camps, special events, and fundraisers. You may help with games, guide guests, lead crafts, and set-up or take down events. Under age 16 can volunteer if they volunteer with an adult. This is only for specific events.

Wild Photographer (Ages 18+)
Volunteer photographers serve a vital role in assisting our marketing reach by documenting daily Zoo activities as well as special visits or events. You will be assigned a specific day and time to photograph. Zoo Staff Team will assist you with specifics for any photographs.

Wild Project Aide (Ages 18+)
Wild Project Aide assists Zoo staff with various projects as needed. Tasks will vary, but more are fairly physical and take place outdoors.

Wild Gardener (Ages 18+)
If you enjoy working in the dirt, you will enjoy spending time keeping our green spaces healthy and weed free!

Community Group or Business
Is your community group or business interested in volunteer opportunities? On occasion, Pine Grove Zoo needs multiple volunteers for larger projects. If you have a group of individuals interested in volunteering, email Arliene at info@pinegrovezoo.com
