I’ve been working at Pine Grove Zoo for over a year now and I’m still amazed with the beauty I see every day as I walk up the path to the main building and start my day. Have you ever noticed how many shades of green there are in our Minnesota landscape? It’s simply breathtaking. This small trek I make every day has become my favorite part of my day. The birds are singing as I walk past the majestic Bison grazing in the dew-covered grasses glancing at me. Our Pronghorn greets me as I pass while our Elk are lazily enjoying the morning and I catch their gaze.
As I continue my walk under the canopy of the trees, it makes me realize how lucky we are to have this beautiful Zoo in Little Falls. It feels as though we are secluded in our own little oasis with the calming serenity of the landscape and the beauty of these amazing animals. As I continue to meander up the path, I noticed the Bobcats, enjoying the morning sun and as I glance at the Tigers, our eyes lock and without any words we once again say good morning. So much can be said and heard with silence. Our Arctic Wolf gives me my final hello as I head into the building. What a great way to start my day, with the sights and sounds and the beauty of the morning at Pine Grove Zoo. We are open from 10 am – 6 pm every day until mid-October. I invite you to enjoy the beauty of the mornings at Pine Grove Zoo.
