Memorial Day thru Labor Day FREE WITH PAID ADMISSION
Sundays at 1:00
Training Demonstrations
By getting the animal to participate in its own health care, we can drastically reduce stress when performing routine health care, as well as help stimulate them mentally. Zoo Keepers can also use training to encourage normal behavior such as pouncing and leaping while eliminating stereotypical behaviors. With the use of operant conditioning, our Zoo Keepers can our animal family stay in shape by getting them up and moving. Free with paid admission.
Mondays at 1:00 pm
Enrichment Demonstration
Did you ever notice when you visit there may be random objects in our exhibits for our animal family to interact with? Such as: huge plastic balls, mirrors, coffee cans or pails, other times you may see cardboard boxes. These “toys” given to our animal family aren’t random – they’re part of a carefully structured enrichment program that is geared towards keeping animals active and engaged with their surroundings. Learn about the importance of Enrichment to our Zoo Family! Free with paid admission.
